Latest travel restrictions

While COVID restrictions have been eased in England, in line with other UK airports and transport operators, LLA will still require passengers to wear a face covering (unless exempt) while inside the terminal and maintain a safe social distance wherever possible. All other health protection measures will remain in place.

From 4 October 2021, new rules for travelling or returning to England come into effect. See Arriving in England.

A number of countries have also added restrictions on passengers travelling from the UK. Departing passengers only require proof of a negative COVID-19 test result, if it is a requirement on entry in the destination. You should look at the rules in place at your destination as well as the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) travel advice before you travel.

Please check the status of your flight with your airline

Approved COVID-19 tests can be booked at LLA.

The traffic light system has been replaced with a single red list of countries or territories and testing requirements have also been reduced for eligible vaccinated travellers. Ensure you read and comply with the new rules before you travel.

  • Book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test to be taken after arrival in England
  • Complete your passenger locator form any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in England
  • Take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 after you arrive in England

Not fully vaccinated

If you do not qualify as fully vaccinated and are not travelling from a red list country, before you travel to England you have to:

  • Take a pre-departure COVID-19 test within 3 days before you travel to England
  • Book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test to be taken after arrival in England
  • Complete your passenger locator form any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in England
