London Luton Airport is implementing the latest Government guidance. Our safety measures have been audited and approved by the Civil Aviation Authority and Public Health England. Measures include:
- Mandatory face coverings (unless medically exempt)
- Enhanced cleaning and regular surface testing
- Installation of hand sanitiser units
- Installation of floor markings and signage so that passengers can maintain a safe distance wherever possible
- Displaying the latest public health information throughout the airport including regular announcements
Please help us by ensuring you follow the latest UK Government safer travel guidance and:
- do not travel if you are unwell
- follow all the latest Government travel advice
- wear a face covering at all times in the terminal
- maintain distance between you and others wherever possible
- wash hands/use hand sanitiser regulalrly
- catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue and dispose of after use

From 4am on 28th November 2021, the red list for travel to England was updated. Ensure you read and comply with the rules before you travel.
Fully vaccinated
IIf you qualify as fully vaccinated, you have to:
- Carry your paperwork proving your vaccination status
- Before arriving into the UK you need to Book a Day 2 Covid 19 PCR test from a private test provider (free NHS tests cannot be used)
- Complete your UK passenger locator form any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in England including the reference for your pre-booked PCR test.
- You must self-isolate at home or the place you are staying until you receive a negative test result
Not fully vaccinated
If you are unvaccinated and over 18 you must self-isolate home for 10 days after your arrival into the UK.
Before you travel to England you have to:
- Take a pre-departure Covid 19 PCR or lateral flow/antigen test in the 3 days before you travel to the UK
- Prior to travelling, book and take a PCR test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8 after your return to the UK.
- Fill a UK passenger locater form within the 48 hours before you arrive in England.
- You must quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 full days
- If your day 8 PCR test result is negative, you can stop self-isolating
Unvaccinated passengers will have the option to end quarantine early if you pay for a private COVID-19 test through the Test to Release scheme.

Approved COVID-19 tests can be booked at LLA.
International passengers must complete a Passenger Locator Form prior to arrival and will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before departure.

Passengers are required to wear a face covering (unless exempt) while inside the terminal and maintain a safe social distance wherever possible. All other health protection measures will remain in place.
You should remove your face covering if asked to do so by police, border control or airport security.

Face masks are available to purchase from WHSmith and Boots and from vending machines throughout the terminal.
Departing passengers do not need a negative COVID-19 test to enter the terminal, but it may be required in your destination. Your airline is responsible for checking you have the necessary documents for travel at check-in and/or the boarding gate.
We politely request that only those flying enter the terminal at this time and that friends and relatives greet or wave off passengers outside.
Yes, a variety of COVID-19 tests are now available at LLA to meet the differing needs of governments worldwide and to enable those arriving in the UK to participate in the UK Government's "Test to Release" scheme. Please note you must NOT use NHS services for this purpose.

We have more than 100 hand sanitiser dispensers across the airport including inside the main entrance and at the entrance to every toilet block.
Personal hand santiser can be purchased from Boots, WHSmith and other retailers, as well as from vending machines in the terminal.
Please note if travelling with personal hand santiser in your hand luggage this must comply with current liquid restricions and must not exceed 100ml.

We know how much it means to wave off family and friends or greet them on arrival, but we politely request that only those flying enter the terminal.
To keep our passengers and staff safe, we ask that you do not arrive at the airport any earlier than necessary, typically 2 to 3 hours before your departure. A number of hotels are located close to the airport.
London Luton Airport is a point to point airport and does not have an airside transit facility. This means that any passenger arriving at LLA is officially entering the country and must meet all entry requirements of the UK to clear immigration checks. Click
