Our operation

The safety and well-being of our passengers and staff is our number one priority. We continue to rigorously implement all Government guidance and follow industry best practice.

LLA is the first UK airport to be awarded the Airport Health Accreditation by Airports Council International after a careful assessment of new measures and procedures introduced. Read more here.

The measures currently in place at the airport include:

  • Enhanced cleaning in the terminal
  • Installation of hand sanitiser units
  • Installation of floor markings and signage, so passengers can maintain a safe distance wherever possible
  • Installation of protective screens where appropriate at customer service points such as check-in
  • Displaying the latest public health information throughout the airport including regular announcements
  • Passengers should wear a face covering, wash their hands regularly and keep a distance wherever possible


Please do not travel if feeling unwell and always follow the latest Government guidance regarding safer air travel.

Passengers arriving in the UK will be required to share contact details, travel information and may be required to self-isolate for 14 days. Click here for more information.

Getting to and from LLA

The Arriva Local and Bedford (route 99) bus services remain operational with reduced schedules. National Express and Greenline are also operating a limited timetable.

Rail services to the airport are operating with a reduced schedule. Please check the operator's website before you travel.

Addison Lee bookings can be made by visiting their website, calling 0207 387 8888 or using their App. Their office is open between 06:00 - 21:00.

Parking

All car parks are now open. Please note, there is no bus service to and from the Mid Stay Car Park until further notice. It's just a 10-minute walk to the terminal.

Bus transfers to/from the Long Stay Car Park are running approximately every 25 - 30 minutes. Face coverings must be worn on board.

Drop off/Pick up

As per Government guidance we ask that you only drop off/collect people who live in the same household as you or those in your "support bubble".

Due to current Government guidance on social distancing, we ask that only those flying enter the terminal and we ask that you avoid entering the terminal to greet or wave off passengers.

Car Hire Centre

Europcar, Avis and Enterprise have now resumed operations, but Hertz remains temporarily closed.

A complimentary shuttle service to/from the Car Hire Centre is available. Please make your way to Bus Bay C to await the service. Face coverings will need to be worn at all times.

Inside LLA

The majority of shops and restaurants have now reopened with social distancing and other safety measures in place. For a full list please see the FAQs below.

Due to Government guidelines, restaurants and cafes with table service cannot open earlier than 5am.

Vending machines are also available before and after security.
