CBRE acts as sole strategic property advisor on NHS Nightingale programme
Over the last seven weeks, we have been working on a pro bono basis as the sole strategic property advisor for NHS England and NHS Improvement on a central basis on their Nightingale programme. Since our appointment on 23rd March, at which time the NHS had just one Nightingale hospital secured - the Excel Centre in London - we have been assisting in identifying sites across the UK which can deliver emergency capacity, working alongside and supporting negotiations on behalf of the NHS. As the only commercial property consultancy business advising NHS England and NHS Improvement on the programme, our role has been to protect the NHS, to mitigate any commercial or financial risk and to support in delivery. We continue to work as an advisor on this programme on all property matters relating to the Nightingale Hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ian Burden, NHS England and NHS Improvement Estates & Facilities has commented; “The support provided by CBRE across England has been timely, professional and hugely beneficial to the response for Covid-19, helping to deliver essential services to the community, as well as the NHS.”
We would like to thank our clients and the industry bodies, including RICS and the BPF, who have helped to make the Nightingale programme a success. These sites represent the nation’s insurance policy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to be a crucial part of the emergency planning process.
