Coronavirus

Here at Staffordshire University, we are doing everything we can to support our students and staff through the COVID-19 pandemic. This page contains all of the latest updates from the University.

If you are a Staffordshire University student studying with one of our Collaborative Academic Partners, please contact the institution in question for information about local arrangements.

If you require accessibility tools, you can use 'ReciteMe' assistive technology service to read this page out loud, translate into your local language or adjust reading options.

COVID-secure measures

Throughout the pandemic we have been following Government and Department for Education guidance as it emerges, looking at how it applies to all aspects of our University activities in order to keep our students and staff safe.

To ensure we prioritise the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and University community, we have several COVID-secure measures in place.

We also encourage all staff, students and visitors to be understanding of other’s personal circumstances and considerate of individuals that may continue to follow their own extra precautions.

Face coverings

From Tuesday 30 November 2021, the Government has legally made the wearing of face coverings in shops and on public transport mandatory once again. Under Plan B, from Friday 10 December 2021, face coverings will be mandatory in most indoor public venues.

Our University policy requires that all staff, students and visitors must wear face coverings in the communal areas of all University and Students' Union buildings, unless you are exempt.

Social distancing

The Government has not reinstated mandatory social distancing and therefore social distancing will not be required in University buildings. However, please be considerate of individuals who may wish to continue to keep their distance and follow extra precautions.

COVID-19 testing

Testing remains an important step we can all take in terms of looking after our own health and that of other students and staff.

The Department for Education requires all students to test, at least twice a week, using the lateral flow tests which are widely available. We would encourage you to test even more frequently, particularly if you expect to be in a period of high risk that day, for example crowded and enclosed spaces.

It is important that you continue to get tested, and if you test positive, you must self-isolate for ten days.

Test reporting is essential. How you report your result depends on how you get tested.
